BUILDING ENVELOPE RESTORATION

When leaks occur within the interior of the building, the roof is always to blame, right? Wrong. The roof is a vital part of a building envelope, but there are other components which also play a critical role in maintaining watertight integrity for the building: wall systems, joints, flashings, openings (windows, doors, etc.), and water protection systems. All of these components need to function properly together in order for the facility to maintain watertight integrity.

StructureTec’s Restoration Group has extensive experience in all aspects of the exterior building envelope. Our process for correcting problems begins with an evaluation of the conditions.  This may require visual observation, exploratory openings, StructureScan® infrared thermal imagery scanning, or leakage testing. We also assess any potential structural damage, including potential structural failure. We then determine the root cause of the issue, whether due to design issues, faulty materials or workmanship.

Our evaluations are designed to assess the overall condition of the building envelope in order for our building envelope consultants and structural engineers to determine and implement the proper maintenance, repair, restoration or replacement solution.
